Mega Manipur School

SALIENT FEATURES OF MEGA MANIPUR SCHOOL:

Mega Manipur School is an English Medium Co-Educational School based on Montessori system of teaching/learning with local adjustment. It is manned by a well trained committee formed by the members of the promoting society, the MEGA MANIPUR SOCIETY (MMS).

Mega Manipur School will follow the CBSE pattern for its academic course. To ensure individual attention the Teacher Student ratio has been fixed at 1:20 (for the whole school) while the Classroom Student ratio is at1:40. Every 20 pupils will be under direct supervision of one teacher for their academic, physical and mental growth.

The teachers will monitor the academic growth and performance of each pupil under their care in consultation with a counselor to identity weak and strong points of the students. Based on their report corrective measures including Remedial Classes or Booster classes as the case may be, would be given to the students.

Private tuition less education: Mega Manipur School is of the opinion that academic inputs to the students must be given during the academic session in the classes. The time spent in the classrooms must be “quality time”. Every minute in the dlasses should be spent in imparting knowledge thus doing away with the need for additional classes (private tuition) at home at extra cost. At home, we would like the children to pursuer activities that all children are entitled to. In this connection we would like to introduce Education Beyond Classroom. It is our understanding that every child needs to understand his surrounding/environment and draw inspiration and knowledge form it. When we talk of education beyond classroom, our teachers will guide the activities of your children at your homes and with minimal help from you turn their natural activities into education. An example would be our teachers will mind the duration and kind of TV channels your children watch and turn it into a learning process. They will encourage students – depending on their age to do their own chores like polishing their shoes etc. While no home work of the kind you are accustomed to would be given, children would be given reading and writing materials for home for revision or practice which will include text books, reference books and other supplementary reading and writing materials.

EVALUATION RATHER THAN EXAMINATIONS
FOR LOWER CLASSES:

Mega Manipur school in line with the latest trends in school education will not have examination system for lower classes. Children who are yet to understand the basics are not expected to understand written questions. We, therefore, will not have examinations for classes Pre-primary to Classes II. In its place, we will have a continuous comprehensive evaluation system and award them grades as per their performance.

Day Schooling: The day School is for Classes Pre-primary to V (for the session 2008-09 it will be upto VIII).
